*** Education Minister Visit ***
This morning we welcomed Mrs Michelle McIlveen MLA (Minister for Education) who had the opportunity to visit some of the classrooms to see the pupils enjoying their work. The P3 pupils were enjoying using the garden and outdoor ‘play’ area during the visit.
The Minister was extremely impressed with the building work which is nearing completion around the school. This is a huge upgrade in terms of accommodation for our pupils.
Members from the School Council joined the Education Minister to ‘officially cut the ribbon’ on the new modular classroom.
Towards the end of the visit the school choir performed ‘Make this World a Better Place’ which in current times is very relevant.
Alongside the Minister is was great to welcome Mr Barry Mulholland (Chairperson of Education Authority) and Mr Mark Baker (Chief Executive of CSSC) who were keen to see the developments around school since their last visit.
It is great to see that the Education Authority and Department of Education have invested so much recently in the infrastructure of the school. We look forward to serving all children in the village secure in our future going forward within a school building offering all the modern facilities needed to support ‘high quality teaching and learning’.
