The pupils have been learning about Remembrance Day during lessons in school this week. The P5/6 class have studied WW1 in depth during their World Around Us lessons this Term.
With current Covid restrictions and the inclement weather we decided to take the P5/6 and the P7 classes down to the War Memorial in Coagh yesterday afternoon in their ‘Class Bubbles’. This allowed the pupils the opportunity to study the memorial in detail and they were able to appreciate the sacrifices of those who have their names on the memorial.
Today the P7 representatives from the School Council went down to the short service and two minute silence at the War Memorial. They were able to lay a wreath on behalf of everyone at school.
