Maths Week Fun in P6/7
16th Oct 2024
With the beautiful weather today, our P6/7 class took full advantage of our outdoor learning space for some exciting practical maths!
The pupils got hands-on, drawing large circles with string and chalk, and used measuring sticks to work out the diameter and radius. They discovered that the circumference is about three times the diameter, and that the radius is approximately half the diameter – a great way to bring maths to life!
They also sharpened their mental maths skills by using number plates from parked and passing cars, applying addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to get as close to 24 as possible.
Fantastic numeracy and problem-solving today – these pupils will definitely remember this lesson! Well done, everyone!
