Our girls' netball team recently travelled to Cookstown Leisure Centre to compete in the Tri County Netball Tournament. The team has made incredible progress this year, thanks to their dedication and hard work at afterschool training with Lisa Bowman. It was fantastic to see them demonstrate their skills and teamwork throughout the tournament.
With ten primary schools participating, the girls played exceptionally well and reached the 3rd/4th place play-off match. In a highly competitive game, they narrowly lost 3-1, with Cookstown securing the win with two quick goals in the final minutes. It was an outstanding performance from all the girls, and they thoroughly deserved their celebratory ice cream on the way home!
The team consisted of Eva, Shania, Emily, Lana, Amy, Amber, Eden Grace, Rose, Ella, and Hannah. A fantastic effort from all involved to secure 4th place in such a competitive tournament.
Congratulations to St Brigid’s on winning the tournament. A special thank you to Mrs White, Principal of Woods Primary School, and Lisa Bowman for organising the event.
Netball Club continues on Friday afternoons with Lisa Bowman, and a new block of sessions will open for girls next month.
