Trout in the Classroom – Release Day
Last week, our P6/7 pupils released the Dollaghan fry into the Ballinderry River.
After two months of caring for the trout in the classroom, the pupils were able to witness the transformation of the fish from alevin to fry. This hands-on experience provided a fantastic opportunity to learn about lifecycles, local biodiversity, and the importance of looking after our rivers and natural environment.
A huge thank you to Frank and Jillian from the Ballinderry Rivers Trust for guiding the pupils through this educational programme and for giving them the chance to be part of such a meaningful conservation initiative.
